Abstract

The idea of merging quantum mechanics and information theory arose decades ago and nowadays it is the center of attention among scientists. However, most people still don’t recognize its value for humanity. Quantum and classical computers both try to solve problems, but the way they manipulate data to get answers is fundamentally different. This article intends to explain fundamental concepts of quantum computers, their use for the future of humans and investigates whether quantum computers are beneficial or detrimental to humans and evaluates our readiness for the next generation of computing.
