Towards Effective Teaching of Islamic Studies: The Legacy of Prophet Muhammad
Abstract
The objective of any teaching is for learning to take place. It is therefore the responsibility of the teacher to look for all resources available to him and make the environment conducive so that learning can take place. It is because of this unique position occupied by the teacher in the teaching and learning process that the paper attempts to examine the teaching strategy of the noble prophet Muhammad (SAW) so that the Islamic Studies teacher can borrow in order to improve in his teaching. This is based on the belief that the prophet Muhammad (SAW) has left a lasting legacy from which the Muslim teachers can learn with a view to making their teaching effective.
