AN ANALYSIS OF SLANG WORDS IN FAST AND FURIOUS 7 MOVIE

Abstract

The aims of the study is to analyze slang word in Fast and Furious 7 Movie. This research has two objectives: first, to describe the characteristic of slang word in the Fast and Furious 7 movie. Second, to understand the effects of slang word uttered in the Fast and Furious 7 movie. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. It is concerned with the description of the data in the form of words on Fast and Furious 7 movie based on Yule theories of characteristic and effect o slang word uttered in the Fast and furious 7 movie.
Based on the obtained result, it can be concluded that slang words are the dominant characteristic of slang word in the Fast and Furious 7 movie namely. While the minimal characteristics are coinage, borrowing and acronym. And then, the dominant effect of slang word uttered is positive effect.
