A RARE CASE OF KERATOAKONTOMA

Keratoacanthoma is a rare benign epithelial tumor with a cyclic course and spontaneous involution. Giant, mushroom-shaped and aggregated forms of keratoacanthoma are atypical, often have an unpredictable and aggressive course, which makes them clinically similar to squamous cell skin cancer. The appearance of a giant aggregated keratoacanthoma against the background of a post-burn scar after exposure to a chemical agent in a 55-year-old man is described. The diagnosis was established histologically, with no signs of malignant growth. The tumor was constantly subjected to mechanical irritation and recurred many times even after radical surgical treatment. Tumor growth was accompanied by ulceration and bleeding. There was a positive clinical effect of ablation with a CO2 laser, in which partial regression of the tumor was achieved.
