Abstract

Ischemic heart disease (CHD) remains the leading cause of death in elderly patients. Recently, centers for revascularization therapy have been opened in almost all regions of our country. In particular, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) are carried out effectively to improve the quality of life in patients with ACS and PICS. These so-called endovascular interventions are currently a highly effective treatment method that can significantly improve the condition of patients and increase their exercise tolerance, and return people to normal daily life. The aim of our study was to assess the possibility of percutaneous coronary intervention as one of the methods of managing patients with chronic ischemic heart disease. In this article, a retrospective analysis of elderly and senile patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention with various types of stenting was made. During the analysis, it was revealed that the majority of patients were elderly and with a diagnosis of ACS. Over 337 endovascular interventions were performed in 163 patients. During the PCI operation, most of the damage to the anterior interventricular branch (LAD) was found and, therefore, its stenting was performed. Stenting of coronary vessels in patients with ACS is necessary to prevent myocardial infarction and all the resulting severe complications in elderly and senile people who have a high level of comorbidity.
