Abstract

The data of study included the results of 110 men with ischaemic cardiomyopathy (mean age 56.1±1.9 years). All 110 (100%) patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy were found to have antibodies to type I collagen in their blood. The presence of antibodies was detected by means of test-system of Institute of Immunology and Human Genomics at Academy of Sciences of Republic of Uzbekistan, which is based on enzyme immunoassay method, that helps to identify autoantibodies to collagen type I. In the control group, 38 (95%) participants of the study did not contain these antibodies. Meanwhile, the levels of antibodies to collagen type I varied in patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy. Depending on antibody titre all patients were divided into two groups: group A comprising 34 (31%) patients with a low level of antibody titre to collagen type I (less than 1:50) and group B with 76 (69%) patients with a high level of antibody titre to collagen type I (more than 1:50). A study of collagen type I antibody levels showed that the higher the level of antibodies, the more severe the manifestations of chronic heart failure, the lower the patients' quality of life and the higher the functional class of angina, while the degree of arterial pressure increase was inversely related.
