Abstract

China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) the vital part of “one belt, one road” has its roots in the history. A historical trade route now emerges as game changer and prosperous opportunities for the war torn economy of Pakistan. After financial crises China strengthened its economy to that very extent that its say has a weightage at global level. After 9/11 China cashed the engagement of world on war on terror and boosted up its economic role in the world economy. The concept of CPEC is the shortest possible route to reach strategically important Indian Ocean to deepen its impact for world leadership. The influence of CPEC for Pakistan is more practical than imagination. But the challenges are also gigantic which resonance is observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and particularly in Baluchistan with great gravity and force. The prosperity of Pakistan is crotch in the eyes of neighbors, therefore they escalates tension on the three sides of its border. These challenges are not only focused by the government but also by the strongest institution of the country i.e. military and they are successfully trying to meet these challenges at every cost. The main focus of this paper is to highlight the importance, challenges, security measures and the historical solution to safeguard the trade routes in past and present scenario.
