THE USE OF COMMUNICATIVE METHODS IN TEACHING ENGLISH

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of teaching English in intensive English courses in the UK. Some advantages of a communicative methodology of language teaching are considered. The active forms of training, in particular role-playing games, are analyzed. Examples of some games that are used in language courses are given. It contains a range of role-playing orientations - didactic, developmental and socializing. Teaching is based on authentic material, and much attention is paid to style. Teachers are trying to teach lively situational speech based on examples from the life of some characters or the history of the country.
