THE ROLE OF PRIVATE AND PUBLIC HOSPITALS IN PUBLIC HEALTH IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
Keywords:
public health, private hospitals, health servicesAbstract
In the last three decades, increased health expenditures in developing countries due to the epidemiological transition and the change in population structure have led to advanced planning of health systems. Discussions on the financing of health services continue in both the public and private sectors. Due to budget deficits and pressures from international creditors, the effective use of public subsidies and the mobilization of private resources for public expenditures are of great importance in these countries that are trying to implement a market-based financial model in health care. Global collaboration is imperative in solving common public health problems.
