Abstract

Although the system of sounds in Mahmud Kashgari’s work “Diwan Lughat al-Turk”, although no special chapter is allocated for his research, his analysis of speech sounds in the process of interpreting lexical units can be considered a great phonetic scholar of his time. The phonetic features of the language of that period are also widely explained in the scholar's travelogues on sounds.
