THE IMPACT OF PAN-ISLAMISM AND PAN-TURKISM IDEOLOGIES ON THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE

The article highlights the differences and similarities between the ideologies of pan-Islamism and pan-Turkism, which emerged in the Middle East and Central Asia in the late XIX - early XX centuries, on the basis of historical evidence. In addition, the article analyzes Tsarist Russia’s attitude towards pan-Islamism and pan-Turkism, and the efforts of Jadid enlighteners to achieve national and religious unity through publications in periodicals.
